Went to School This Morning!

All day yesterday as we were driving, I was waiting to see a really long road train. We saw ones with two or three trailers behind but I wasn't satisfied with that. I was giving up hope as we neared Alice Springs and then, all of a sudden, we saw one hauling four trailers. I was sure glad Bob didn't have to try pass it.

Today we went up ANZAC Hill which was just behind our motel. There we met a lady who is registrar for a grade 7 - 12 boarding school. We didn't have a lot of time, but she took us over to her school for a quick look. The school has 500 students and is made up of a complex of buildings. The grounds were beautiful because of the recent rains. In fact they had to close school for a day because the creek and river rose and cut them off. It was the first time that had happened in her 20 years at the school ... sort of like our first snow day in January.

She gave us a yearbook (Katie, EVERY page is full color!) and another booklet that traces the school's history. When we wake up in the morning, we never know what adventure we will have!

  1. I'll have to come by when you get back so I can have a peak at the yearbook. Pictures are beautiful!
